1) General Note: Section R301.1.4 of the 2021 International Residential Code requires that Intermodal Shipping Containers comply with the requirements of the 2021 International Building Code, Section 3115. The limitations outlined in Section 3115.8.5.1 state that the design criteria is limited to a single-unit, stand-alone unit supported on a foundation, and shall not be in contact with or supporting any other shipping container or other structure.
